In February 2023, after a ten-year recording break, their new work "How To Replace It" was released. The band around multi-talent Tom Barman convinces again and again with its seemingly endless musical creativity. At the beginning, the sound of dEUS was very much influenced by bands like Velvet Underground, Captain Beefheart or Tom Waits, but over the years the elements of film music and big, orchestral sounds increased more and more. But also folk, pop and synthesizer sounds found their way into the wide, open sound universe of this truly great band. Concert from 26/3/2023 in Cologne ____________ 🇩🇪 1989 im belgischen Antwerpen gegründet, gehören dEUS heute zu den wichtigsten und einflussreichsten Alternative-Acts in Europa. Im Februar 2023 erschien nach einer zehnjährigen Aufnahme-Pause ihr neues Werk "How To Replace It". Die Band um Multitalent Tom Barman überzeugt dabei immer wieder aufs Neue mit ihrer schier endlosen musikalischen Kreativität. War der Sound von dEUS zu Anfang noch sehr von Bands wie Velvet Underground, Captain Beefheart oder Tom Waits geprägt, nahmen die Elemente aus Filmmusik und großer, orchestraler Klänge über die Jahre immer mehr zu. Doch auch Folk-, Pop- und Synthesizer-Sounds fanden ihren Weg in das weite, offene Klanguniversum dieser wahrhaft großen Band. Die Aufzeichnung des Konzerts wird ca. eine Woche nach dem Livestream online gestellt. Après une pause de dix ans, les musiciens ont sorti en février 2023 un nouvel album : How To Replace It. Le groupe réuni autour du musicien et réalisateur Tom Barman séduit par son inépuisable créativité. Les premières années, le style musical de dEUS était directement inspiré de musiciens comme Velvet Underground, Captain Beefheart ou Tom Waits. Mais au fil des ans, les musiciens ont intégré des éléments issus de musiques de films ainsi que des sonorités empruntées aux grandes œuvres orchestrales. Les accents folk, pop ou tirés des synthés ont tout autant leur place dans le vaste répertoire musical de ce groupe hors du commun.
