Pour l’occasion, la cheffe polonaise a imaginé un programme allant de Mel Bonis à Sandrine Rudaz, avec la saxophoniste Valentine Michaud en soliste. Lauréate de nombreux prix, Zofia Kiniorska dirige l’Orchestre de la Suisse romande dans un programme consacré aux femmes compositrices du XIXe siècle à nos jours. Soliste de cette soirée exceptionnelle, la saxophoniste Valentine Michaud déploie son immense palette expressive. En guise de lever de rideau : deux pièces de Sandrine Rudaz, compositrice de musique de film valaisanne. Les deux partitions célèbrent la vie, avec ses difficultés mais aussi ses infinies possibilités. Au programme également, des œuvres de Mel Bonis, Augusta Holmès et Cécile Chaminade, grandes compositrices françaises du début du XXe siècle. Point d’orgue du concert : la première suisse de Glasslandsd’Anna Clyne, un concerto pour saxophone et orchestre qu’interprète Valentine Michaud. La cheffe Zofia Kiniorska entame sa formation musicale dès l’âge de six ans par l’apprentissage du piano. Plus tard, elle étudie la direction au Conservatoire Chopin de Varsovie. La Polonaise commence sa carrière comme cheffe en résidence du Sinfonia Varsovia, puis comme assistante à l’Opéra de Poznań. La jeune femme a également dirigé l’Orchestre symphonique de la radio nationale polonaise à Katowice à l’occasion d’une master class avec Marin Alsop en 2021. Elle a par ailleurs recueilli les conseils de chefs tels que Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Neeme Järvi et Kristjan Järvi. Née à Paris en 1993, Valentine Michaud étudie le saxophone et le piano à Nantes avant de s’établir en Suisse à l’âge de seize ans. La Française allie finesse musicale et technique irréprochable au service d’une créativité hors du commun. Désireuse de repousser les limites de son instrument et d’explorer de nouveaux horizons, elle a su se faire une place à part dans le monde de la musique classique. La jeune femme s’est notamment produite en soliste au côté de l’Orchestre philharmonique de Vienne, de l’Orchestre du Festival de Lucerne et du Sinfonia Varsovia.
