Direction le Prince Charles à Kreuzberg, établissement où les basses se cognent au béton et où la sueur semble dégouliner du plafond. Dans ce club, le passé et le présent de la techno convergent dans une fusion enivrante. Au Prince Charles, dans la piscine d’une ancienne usine de pianos, Clara Cuvé propose ses sets extatiques à des clubbers en sueur. Ces dernières années, la DJ s’est imposée comme une figure majeure du courant le plus intransigeant de la techno berlinoise d’aujourd’hui. Avec SESH, sa propre série de soirées et son label fondé avec MCR-T, elle crée à présent un espace où techno, rave, rap et pop coexistent sans s’opposer. Briser les règles et ne pas se laisser entraver par les diktats du milieu, c’est en somme la philosophie de cette vaste entreprise créative. Côté son, l’artiste cultive un sens proprement unique de la profondeur en mettant à profit sa solide formation de pianiste classique. Ado, Clara est beaucoup sortie à Munich, sa ville natale. Soutenue par, excusez du peu, une pointure comme DJ Hell, elle se retrouve rapidement aux platines. Son installation à Berlin marque ensuite le décollage définitif de sa carrière. Oscillant entre techno rapide et puissante, breakbeat et hardcore, ses sets énergiques cherchent toujours à maximiser l’euphorie. Transposer le son en mouvement, sans jamais faire de concession, voilà le credo de Clara Cuvé. Ses innombrables passages lors de festivals en sont la parfaite incarnation.
