Bach : œuvres pour orgue - Leipzig - ARTE Concert Episode Content: Les plus grands moments du marathon “Gravity Bach” : vingt-deux heures de la musique du célèbre cantor jouée à l’orgue par Johannes Lang. Parallèlement se superposent les images de danseurs contemporains, filmés au sein de leur compagnie en Allemagne, aux États-Unis, en Roumanie, en Pologne et en Australie. À l’église Saint-Thomas de Leipzig, où Jean-Sébastien Bach fut en poste pendant vingt-sept ans, l’organiste titulaire, Johannes Lang, a imaginé un véritable marathon musical intitulé “Gravity Bach” : un concert de vingt-deux heures consacré à la musique du cantor. Mêlant chorals, partitas, toccatas ou encore préludes et fugues, l’instrumentiste a interprété quelque deux cents pièces de Bach, réunies dans un ordre précis par le musicologue Christoph Wolff pour reproduire le cycle d’une année liturgique. Parallèlement se superposent les images de danseurs contemporains, filmés au sein de leur compagnie en Allemagne, aux États-Unis, en Roumanie, en Pologne et en Australie, qui expriment la musique en mouvement. Un merveilleux florilège de cette performance artistique, à laquelle participait également la soprano Julia Sophie Wagner, qui présente certaines œuvres au public.
